About Beth
Beth’s journey from dancer to yoga teacher/runner was a circuitous journey. As a child, she trained pre-professionally as a ballet dancer and chose to study dance in college, where she was awarded scholarships two years in a row to study with the Jose Limon Dance Company. While in college, her studies focused heavily on anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, movement patterns, teaching movement to non-dancers, and crafting quirky choreography. She was and is keenly interested in the intersection between movement and music, which translates to her passion for running.
Beth always wanted to be a runner, but as a pre-professional dancer, didn’t have the time to commit and was plagued by overuse injuries from dance. However, towards the end of her college career, there was a plot twist and she found herself unable to pursue dance professionally. A little lost, she slowly began running as therapy: half a mile wog here, a mile jog there, eventually signing up for and completing her first race. When covid hit, she joined a running club and began to grow in confidence and her identity as a runner.
She is a certified yoga teacher, receiving her 200 Hour certification from Flow Yoga in 2014 and is currently pursuing 500 hour certification.
